The Indian Navy has announced Recruitment 2026 for 260 vacancies for Short Service Commission (SSC) Officer posts. Candidates who hold qualifications such as B.Com, B.Sc, B.Tech/B.E, M.A, M.Sc, MBA/PGDM, or MCA are eligible to apply online.

Indian Navy SSC Officers Recruitment 2026 – Detailed Information
The Indian Navy has released the notification for Short Service Commission (SSC) Officers Recruitment 2026, inviting applications for 260 vacancies across Executive, Technical, and Education branches. Both men and women candidates are eligible for several entries. The course will commence in January 2027 at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala.

Educational Qualification

Executive (GS(X)/Hydro), Pilot, Observer, ATC BE/B.Tech in any discipline with minimum 60% marks (Pilot, Observer & ATC also require 60% marks in Class X & XII and 60% in English)

Logistics BE/B.Tech with First Class or MBA with First Class or B.Sc/B.Com/B.Sc (Hons) with First Class plus PG Diploma in Finance/Logistics/Supply Chain/Material Management or MCA/M.Sc (Hons) with First Class

Education Branch Postgraduate or Engineering degrees in specified disciplines such as Maths, Physics, Meteorology, Oceanography, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, etc., with minimum 60% marks (Minimum 60% in Class X or XII mandatory)

Salary & Allowances

Starting salary of Sub Lieutenant: approx. ₹1,25,000 per month

Flying allowance (Pilot/Observer): ₹31,250 per month (after training)

Submarine allowance: ₹31,250 per month (after completion of submarine training)

Selection Process

Shortlisting will be done based on normalised marks in the qualifying degree

Shortlisted candidates will be called for SSB Interview

Final merit list will be prepared based on SSB performance and medical fitness

Degree completion proof with minimum 60% marks must be submitted before joining INA
General Instructions

Only one application per candidate is allowed

Only unmarried candidates are eligible

NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders get 5% relaxation in shortlisting marks

AC 3-tier rail fare is reimbursed for first-time SSB candidates

Any false information or ineligibility at any stage will lead to cancellation of candidature

Short Service Commission is for 12 years, extendable by 2 years
