OPSC Assistant Professor (Broad Speciality) Recruitment 2026 – Vacancy & Details

The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has released a corrigendum notification for the recruitment of 312 Assistant Professor (Broad Speciality) posts under the Odisha Medical Education Service. These vacancies are spread across various medical disciplines, with 12 posts reserved for Persons with Disabilities (PwD).

Discipline-wise Vacancy Details

A total of 312 vacancies have been announced across multiple specialties including Anaesthesiology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, General Medicine, Community Medicine, Pathology, General Surgery, Paediatrics, and others. Out of these, 12 posts are reserved for PwD candidates, while the remaining vacancies are distributed among UR, SEBC, SC, ST, and Women categories as per rules.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Post Graduate Degree in the relevant Broad Speciality or an equivalent qualification recognized by the MCI/NMC, as applicable from time to time.

Experience Requirement

• Minimum 1 year of post-PG experience as Senior Resident/Tutor in the concerned subject

• For DNB candidates:

  • 1 year experience if the institution has 500 beds or more

  • 2 years experience if the institution has less than 500 beds

• Candidates appointed as Assistant Professor before 08 June 2017 are exempted from the experience requirement, as per rules.

Salary Details

Selected candidates will receive pay as per Academic Level-12 of ORSP (MCT) Rules, 2019, along with Dearness Allowance and other allowances as sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time.

Age Limit (as on 01 January 2025)

• Minimum Age: 21 years

• Maximum Age: 45 years

Age Relaxation

• 5 years for SEBC / SC / ST / Women / Ex-Servicemen

• 10 years for PwD candidates (40% and above disability)

• Up to 15 years for PwD candidates belonging to reserved categories

• 5 years for in-service doctors working on ad-hoc or contractual basis

Application Fee

As per G.A. & P.G. Department Notification No. 9897/Gen., dated 11.04.2022, no application fee is required for any category.

Selection Process

Selection will be made through a Written Examination conducted in accordance with the Odisha Medical Education Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2021.

Important Instructions for Candidates

• This notification is a corrigendum to Advertisement No. 03 of 2025-26

• Requisitions for Radiotherapy (MKCG) – 1 post and Radiation Oncology – 1 post have been withdrawn, and applications for these posts stand cancelled

• Only eligible PwD candidates as per the original advertisement are allowed to apply under this corrigendum

• PwD candidates who have already applied earlier do not need to apply again

• Reserved vacancies for UR, SEBC, SC, ST, and Women categories remain unchanged

• All other terms and conditions of Advertisement No. 03 of 2025-26 remain applicable
