   RSSB Forester Recruitment 2026 – Detailed Information

Vacancy Details

The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) has announced a total of 259 Forester (Vanpal) vacancies, divided as follows:

• Non-Scheduled Area: 213 posts

• Scheduled Area: 46 posts

Category-wise and horizontal reservations (Divyang, Ex-Servicemen, Outstanding Sportspersons, etc.) have been provided as per Rajasthan Government rules for both areas.

          Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have passed Senior Secondary (10+2) from the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education, CBSE, or any equivalent board recognized by the Government.

• Working knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script and knowledge of Rajasthan culture is mandatory.

• Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying exam are eligible, but they must complete the qualification before the Forester examination.

• Ex-servicemen with 15 years of service holding an equivalent qualification certificate are also eligible as per rules.

Nationality

Applicants must be:

• Indian citizens, or

• Citizens of Nepal or Bhutan, or

• Tibetan refugees who settled in India before 01 January 1962, or

• Persons of Indian origin migrated from specified countries for permanent settlement
  (Eligibility certificate from the Ministry of Home Affairs is required where applicable.)

Salary Details

• Pay Scale: Level-8 (7th Pay Commission) – ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500 per month

• Probation Period: 2 years

• During probation, candidates will receive fixed remuneration only (no DA, HRA, or other allowances).

• After successful completion of probation and training, regular pay and allowances will be granted as per rules.

Age Limit (as on 01 January 2027)

• Minimum Age: 18 years

• Maximum Age: 40 years

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST/OBC/MBC (Rajasthan male): 5 years

• General category women: 5 years

• SC/ST/OBC/MBC women (Rajasthan): 10 years

• Ex-servicemen: Up to 15 years (subject to maximum age limits)

• Widows & divorced women: No age limit (up to retirement age)

• Additional 3-year relaxation for all candidates as recruitment was not conducted in the last 3 years

Age relaxations are non-cumulative.

Application Fee

• General / OBC-CL / MBC-CL: ₹600

• OBC-NCL / MBC-NCL / EWS / SC / ST (Rajasthan): ₹400

• Divyang candidates: ₹400

• Correction Fee: ₹300

Candidates from other states will be treated as General category. Those who have already paid the One Time Registration (OTR) fee are not required to pay again.

Selection Process

1. Written Examination based on CET (Senior Secondary Level) 2024 scores

   • Offline (OMR-based), Objective type

   • 100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours

   • Negative marking: 1/3 mark for each wrong answer

Physical Standards & Fitness Test

Physical Measurement

• Male: Height 163 cm, Chest 84 cm (5 cm expansion)

• Female: Height 150 cm, Chest 79 cm (5 cm expansion)

• Relaxation in height is applicable for ST and specified communities.

Walking Test

• Male: 25 km in 4 hours

• Female: 16 km in 4 hours
